Today I am sharing one of my favorite “quick tips”. It has the power to transform relationships!

In this time of ever-present distractions, it is especially important to BE PRESENT and BE ALL THERE.

It’s a simple concept to understand, but it’s not always easy to do.

The most important factor is being certain that the person you are talking with knows that they have your full attention and are not competing with any distraction, be it your phone or anything else.

Can you bring to mind whom you need to “be all there” for today?

Distractions are like endless ripples in the ocean that disrupt our ability to keep our focus on what’s truly important.

At times, relationship challenges are added to the distractions and come crashing in and threaten to pull us under.

Life in this world is continually riddled with problems and strife.

But there’s a remedy! We can choose to redirect our focus to our relationship with the Lord. When we are close to Him, we regain our perspective.

We’re told to seek Him first (Matthew 6:33). We just need to fix our gaze on His glorious face on the horizon above the churning waves.

Does your focus need some adjusting?

The farmer needs a guide to help him direct his plow in a straight path. He fixes his gaze on an object in the distance, like a tree or a post, to help him stay on a straight path. If he turns to look behind him while he plows, his plow will veer off course and his furrows will become crooked.

Like the farmer, Paul admonished the church that a straight path forward requires that we avoid looking behind us and focus on the things that are ahead. As we keep our focus ahead, depending on the Lord as our guide, our path will produce great things that He has in store for us, both in this life and in our home with Him in heaven, the prize of everlasting glory!

Are you avoiding the temptation of concentrating on what’s behind you and working to keep your focus on the high calling ahead of you?
